Buying a Home in Boston   Search for Boston Homes

Before you purchase a home or even start looking at a home it would be in your best interest to get pre-approved for a home loan. This step would assist you in finding a home that fits into your budget. The pre-approval may also aid in the negotiations for your dream home.  Pre-Approval will show the sellers that your financing is already in place and that will give them one less worry.  You may qualify for a low rate & low down payments through the MassHousing program.  Anita knows trusted lenders with experience in this program who can guide you through the process.  Just ask!

Here are some simple steps to follow before you search for your dream home.
1. Check your credit - review your credit with one or all three of the major credit reporting agencies. Clean up any potential negative marks before you apply for a Mortgage. The better your credit report looks the better interest rate you may receive.

2.  Research the amount of loan you may qualify for.  You should know how much of a down payment you can afford.  Be sure to ask about MassHousing, a great resource for first-time homebuyers w/lower interest rates for qualified applicants.

3.  Start the Pre-Qualification process.  Research Mortgage Brokers, Banks, Credit Unions or Lenders for the mortgage that will best fit your needs.  Research the companies you are interested in doing business with.  Search the local chamber or Better Business Bureau for more information.  In addition, make sure all their licensing is up-to-date. There are many different types of loans available and your mortgage professional will be able to suggest the loan that would best fit your needs.

4.  Complete and sign a Mortgage Application.  Once you have decided on the Mortgage company you will be using, complete the application.  Your signature will allow the Mortgage Company to review your credit and begin the approval process.

5.  Receive the Pre-Approval Letter.  Once your credit has been reviewed and verified the lender will issue a Pre-Approval Letter.  This document will aid in your home purchase.  It can be given to sellers with your offer to show you have secured financing and you are ready to purchase their home.

Anita will gladly assist you with finding a reputable mortage company.  Please contact her for a list of her trusted vendors.
